The 750th Anniversary of Izu Incident

This year marks the 750th Anniversary of the Izu Incident. Nichiren Shonin, our founder, was exiled to Izu, Shizuoka Prefecture, though innocent of any crime, on May 12, 1261. This is the first major persecution from the Kamakura Shogunate since he presented his Rissho Ankoku Ron to the government in the previous year.

The World kaikyoshi Conference will be held at the Head Office of Nichiren Shu from June 29 through July 1, 2010.

NONA Business Meeting

Nichiren Buddhist Order of North America (NONA) will host its business meeting at NBIC. NONA will also hold the grand ceremony of the 750th Anniversary of Rissho Ankoku Ron and the Kick-off ceremony of its centennial of the propagation in North America.
