DAY 11

October 13th Friday

We would get up early, have breakfast and hop on the train back over to Honmon-Ji.

We were not supposed to take pictures during the service so I have none to post here. The parade and service are video cast on the web each year. Please visit Honmon-Ji's web site for information on times.

We visited the Hondo of Honmon-Ji after the service. Then wandered around the complex for awhile.

The cord stretches out front of the Shoshido. It is attached to the hand of the statue of Nichiren Shonin.

Steps leading back out of the Temple onto the streets of Ikegami.

Several of the Houston members wondered over to a small Temple nearby which is dedicated to Myoken Bodhisattva. This is their Temples namesake and they wished to pay respects here to Myoken.

Cleaning up after the festival.

Essentially the pilgrimage had come to an end. We would do the last minute shopping and in the morning head to the airport.
